CARLINVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT AND OFFICERS

CARLINVILLE- The Carlinville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met Nov. 3 to elect a new slate of officers for the remainder of 2022 through 2023, and to introduce a new branding for the Chamber.

Newly-elected Chamber President Jon Griffel said the goal for the Chamber of Commerce is unity amongst the community and that new branding reflects that priority.

“I feel like Carlinville has turned the corner recently to see that we are all stronger together,” Griffel said. “ I think it’s something we see in our partnership with City Hall, and also visible with the upcoming Christmas in Carlinville where all of the destinations are working together to make the event stronger all across the community.”

Griffel described the new branding of “Carlinville CommUnity Chamber of Commerce” visually as a multi-color “C” with colors pulled from previous chamber logos all put together to make a “C.”

“Our new board member Karin Doolin is the one who did the design work for the rebranding,” said Brian Zilm, Executive Director for the Chamber of Commerce. “I love the idea of pulling from the past, throwing in some new elements, and using it all to make a strong logo. I feel stressing the “Unity” in “commUnity” really represents the community and the Chamber of Commerce perfectly right now.”

The Board of Directors also took a vote to downsize the office from the current location at 112 E. Side Square to a new location at 126 S. Broad Street. The moving of the office location was voted on as an opportunity to direct more funds toward marketing the community in place of overhead costs.

“Moving office locations became a no-brainer for the Chamber,” said Chamber Treasurer Tammy Hughes. “This new location will allow us to remove nearly all of the overhead costs and allow us to maintain a presence downtown- which was critical to the board.”

The Board of Directors officers and directors are: President Jon Griffel, Vice President Sue Mueller, Secretary Mandi Chumley, Treasurer Tammy Hughes, Brian Burnside, Mark Biermann, Ashley Archibee-Hadley, Chad Strubbe, John Zeidler, and Executive Director Brian Zilm.
